It is located in the fishing valley of the same name and includes brackish water channels reed beds hygrophilous forests. It is home to a variety of birds, making it one of the most important wintering and nesting sites in the Mediterranean.
The presence of fresh and brackish water, typical of fishing valleys, guarantees a significant environmental variety, with around 400 species of flora and numerous plant habitats, while the bird species present number around 250.
